Introduction – about Cellcius 

Cellcius is an Eindhoven based startup founded in 2020 by TNO and TU/e and located at the TU/e campus. We are developing an innovative salt based heat battery that will play a crucial role in the energy transition. Our heat battery enables storage of waste heat (generated in data centers and industry) and use it again at a different time and location to heat houses and commercial buildings.  

For Cellcius time-to-market for its products and services is crucial for the business success and needed fundraising. This requires a dedicated full-time business developer. We have a job opening for a business developer with in-depth knowledge of heat networks and storage systems who is able to translate this into opportunities for Cellcius. The business developer knows the market and is able to conduct discussions with potential customers and translate these into business opportunities. 

In this job, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our business. You will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities and building strategic partnerships. You will work closely with the CEO, the management team and the R&D-team to achieve our business objectives. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, innovative startup and make a significant impact in energy transition.  

As we are a startup, we are looking for a broad hands-on person, who is part of the troops and is able to connect business and technology.  

 

Context of the position  

 Within Cellcius you’ll report directly to the CEO and work in close collaboration with the management team and R&D department.  

 

 Job Mission  

  • Identify and pursue business opportunities, target markets, and potential lead customers for the short and longer term to expand the applicability and adoption of our product.  
  • Bringing the Cellcius System to the attention of our potential customers, for example installation companies, heat net owners and energy providers.  
  • Formulate a strategy to approach new markets and create market plans and provide market input to the technical roadmap.  
  • Making estimates of sales value of Cellcius system and services based on customer value and proposition and calculating business propositions and validate these in the market. 
  • Create and develop strategic documents and plans for target markets and (pilot)customer acquisition and for the purpose of fundraising and obtaining subsidies and grants.  
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with (potential) clients and key stakeholders.  
  • Establish partnerships to enter new markets smoothly, quickly, and successfully.  
  • Lead negotiations and contract discussions with potential clients and partners. 
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape and potential market gaps and opportunities.  
  • Represent the company at clients, industry conferences, fairs, or any other networking events and social media to enhance brand visibility and establish strategic partnerships. 

 

 

Education and Experience 

At least 3-5 years working experience in product development and business development in the energy market and preferably a technical education (Mechanics, Electronics or Applied Physics) or a few years working experience in a technical company.   

Succesfull experience as Business developer in a technical (startup) setting is a pre.

  • Passion to grow Cellcius to a leading technology company.  
  • Team player able to align multiple stakeholders and to connect business and technology.  
  • Strong analytical skills with a pragmatic attitude.  
  • Proactive and creative, comes up with new approaches to increase market opportunities to contract first and new customers. 
  • Thought leader for own scope within Cellcius via conference visits, writing papers and being active on social media.  
  • Professional communicator with an outgoing and positive attitude and convincing presentation skills. 
  • Bringing and maintaining a professional network, to serve customer relations and partnerships.  
  • Self-driven, pro-active, hands-on and get-it-done mentality based on solid technical basis.  
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and verbally.  
  • You are located in the Netherlands
